For your consideration.... Extremely rare 1806 first edition : The Art of Horsemanship: Altered and Abbreviated, According to the Principles of the Late Sir Sidney Medows. Author: Strickland Freeman. Published: 1806 . Place Published: London . Published By : Printed for the author by W. Bulmer and Co . 16 engraved plates and illustrations within the text. First edition, leather binding and corners, gilt lettering on spine. Approx 11 1/4" x 9 1/4" x 1", 251 pages. CONDITION: Overall: Good, especially for a 200 year old book! No torn, loose or missing pages but there is foxing - mostly limited to plates, and there is offsetting and ghosting from illustrations. (see photos) There is one folding plate, (please see pictures ) Binding: Very good, tight, still sound. Hinges: Good with some rubbing wear - see photos. Boards are stained, and there is shelf wear mostly to the bottom edges. Spine: Good with some wear to the leather. First blank page next to endpapers was creased (see photo).
