ITEM DESCRIPTION: This is a set of three used Dune series books consisting of Dune, Heretics of Dune, and Children of Dune. All three books are in very rough condition with heavy wear, damage, and signs of extensive previous use and handling. The paperback book appears to have been an ex-library copy. The other books could possibly have also been ex-library copies, but this is not confirmed. The books and slipcovers show extensive wear, including scratches, scuff marks, cut marks, gouges, rips, tears, creasing, warping, bending, dents, indentations, staining, browning, yellowing, and discoloration. The covers and edges are heavily worn, with rough and worn-down areas exposing the raw materials. There is also damage that appears consistent with past water exposure, including areas of crumbling and degrading material. The extent of the water-related damage varies between the three books, with some showing more severe damage than others. The books have been read recently, although the damage and overall condition make for a less-than-ideal reading experience. There are also scribbles and handwritten notes related to previous ownership in some of the books. The two hardcover books have very weak spines. No missing pages have been observed, and the pages do not appear to be excessively loose; however, the text blocks have separated from the backs of the spines and from the hardcover covers. This separation is present and should be considered when evaluating the overall condition.
