Very Rare Concept/Prototypes. Paul Jennings Rascal the Dragon & Rascal Takes Off

I snaffled these at the Frankfurt Book Fair in 2003?, the world's largest trade fair for books where publishers and buyers gather to negotiate publishing rights, licence fees place orders etc. These two concept prototypes represent Puffin (the publishing house) introducing the Paul Jennings' Young reader series, Rascal the Dragon to the market. The books are at the earliest possible stage of publication being just printed on cards, glued in a plain card wraparound and a printed DJ to represent the paperback cover concept. They precede printers proofs, galley proofs, Uncorrected proofs and so forth. No publishing information within and no isbn assigned. So don't worry about the 1st edition, these are pre-1st and very rarely is any book found in this state. The Rascal series did go to print but the books, eventually published, featured different colouring and repositioning of the central artwork and text
