Blue cloth hardcover with gilt-stamped author facsimile signature to front board and gilt spine lettering; red top stain. Condition: No dust jacket. Blue cloth shows some wear, with fraying and cloth loss at the spine ends and corners. Spine faded, a bit cocked. Pages have some age toning, some foxing to pastedowns. Front pastedown bears the decorative bookplate of "Cooper Lindley." See photos for more condition details. Robinson’s The Cardinal is a novel centered on the life and ecclesiastical career of an American Catholic priest. It became one of Robinson’s best-known works.
