This professional flight manual provides current airway information for pilots of Beirut-based Middle East Airlines (MEA), the flag carrier of Lebanon, during the Lebanese Civil War (1975–90). We have traced no other copies of this or similar manuals.During those momentous years, MEA suffered hijackings, staff fatalities, airport closures, and the destruction of facilities and aircraft. Having relocated temporarily to Paris, it operated as a charter airline while seeking to expand its network.The route manual is divided into alphabetically arranged sections, dated 1975–87, intended to be replaced by revised versions as required. Each section pertains to an airport in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa. Some extend to several leaves and include coordinates, landing and missed-approach procedures, runway information, airport plans, terrain, elevations, and related operational data.Middle Eastern destinations include Abu Dhabi, Aden, Aleppo, Amman, Aqaba, Bahrain, Baghdad, Basrah, Beirut, Cairo, Damascus, Dhahran, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kirkuk, Kuwait, Medina, Muscat, Ras al-Khaimah, Riyadh, Sharjah, Tabriz, Taif, and Tehran. The Abu Dhabi section is prefaced by a "Noise Abatement Procedure" notice governing flights between 5 pm and 2 am.
