Original National Police Gazette supplement, Issue No. 1454, dated June 24, 1905, featuring legendary heavyweight boxing champion James J. Jeffries. The large-format supplement shows Jeffries in four photographic poses, including fighting stances, and describes him as the “Champion Pugilist of the World.” Jeffries was one of the dominant heavyweight fighters of the early 20th century and later became especially famous for his 1910 championship bout against Jack Johnson. An excellent piece of early boxing / pugilism memorabilia dating back more than 120 years. Condition: Original antique condition with horizontal fold lines, light toning, scattered spotting/staining and minor edge wear consistent with age. Image and printing remain strong and clear.
