The journal is a facsimile reprint of the original 1839 Adelaide publication, very rare even when this edition appeared. The supplement to this volume of the Proceedings also contains 'A Biographical Sketch of Colonel William Light, the Founder of Adelaide and the First Surveyor-General of the Province of South Australia. Compiled from various sources by Thomas Gill' (pages 81-177). The main article in the rest of the volume is 'Twenty-five Years of Australian Exploration' by Thomas Reed (18 pages).
