Scarce signed and personally inscribed bilingual guide to the T. G. Shevchenko Museum in Kaniv, Ukraine. Written by noted Ukrainian literary scholar and Shevchenko researcher Zinaida Panasivna Tarakhan-Bereza, this illustrated hardcover guide was published by Promin in Dnipropetrovsk in 1986. The author’s handwritten inscription on the Ukrainian title page is dated July 1988 and commemorates a meeting in Sonoma, California. It was presented to Diana and George, whose ownership inscription and Novato, California address also appear inside. The inscription translates approximately as: “To Diana and George, in fond remembrance of our meeting in Sonoma — the author. July 1988.” An especially interesting association copy connecting Ukrainian cultural history with the Ukrainian-American community in Northern California. DETAILS: • Title: Museum of T. G.
