Limited edition bound by Sangorski and Sutcliffe This work is an impressive production by the Golden Cockerel Press. The edition was limited to 500 copies and the beautiful deluxe binding was designed by the talented John Buckland Wright (1897-1954). De Chair dedicated this volume to Oliver Lyttleton, later Viscount Chandos, who was a British businessman who was brought into the government as Minister of Production during the Second World War. While researching this book de Chair acted as his Parliamentary Private Secretary. Limited edition numbered 465 of 500. 2 vols, 4to ( each vol: 32 x 20 cm), portrait frontispiece, cartographical endpapers designed by the editor, binders signature in both volumes, handmade paper untrimmed ; bound in special deluxe binding by Sangorski and Sutcliffe in green morocco with gilt fillets, red morocco with gilt-stamped Napoleonic bees in a geometric design, gilt lettering to spine, top edge gilt, spine on volume one slightly faded, housed in modern red cloth slipcase; overall fine copy; pp.422,[ii] limitation page,78pp, [ii] limitation page.
