ANON. St. Ermin's Hotel. Westminster, London S.W.1. Original hotel luggage label, c.1950. 105 x 130 mm. The hotel was built in 1890 and is located on Caxton Street. It was designed by Edwin Hall originally as a mansion block. Its proximity to the houses of Parliament meant that it has long been a favourite of Politicians. During the second World War the hotel was used as the headquarters of MI6's section D and special operations executive. It became known that the hotel was used by the infamous Cambridge Five spy ring including Guy Burges, Kim Philby and Anthony Blunt. SKU: 2123530
