Vintage Bamboo Folding Book Stand Dark Wood Frame Likely 1960s-70s MCM Style

$74 · Offered by eBay

Vintage folding book stand made of bamboo slats set into a dark-stained solid wood frame, likely dating to the 1960s–70s based on its construction — the pivot joints are fitted and pegged with no visible screws or metal hardware, a detail more typical of older, handcrafted pieces than mass-market production. Folds flat for storage and opens into an X-frame stand with two slatted panels — a shorter front panel and a taller back panel — designed to hold and display books upright, similar in concept to a magazine rack but sized and angled for books specifically. Dimensions: 13" high x 13½" wide x 14¼" deep (open). Front panel: 6" long. Back panel: 9½" long. Wood/bamboo slat width: 1". Good vintage condition throughout. A well-made, sturdy piece that's genuinely hard to find — searches turn up plenty of bamboo magazine racks but few book stands built quite like this one. Great for book lovers who want something with real character on a shelf, side table, or reading nook. Condition: very good - minor vintage wear to surface - see pics
