"When the three of us first got together to discuss writing this book, we decided that what we really wanted to work toward was a much-needed humorous look at lesbians, a book that could provide entertainment while poking fun at ourselves in the process, and yet not offend anyone (or at least offend everyone equally). We realized that, being suburban WASP lesbians, we could not speak for every woman of the gay persuasion. For example, we are not lesbians of color, nor are we Jewish. We do not view life as a city lesbian might, although we do occasionally make expeditions to Boston or Cambridge. We cannot speak for differently-abled lesbians. We haven't a clue what it might be like to be tall and/or overweight lesbians. And we have no understanding whatsoever of the special issues facing red-headed or left-handed lesbians. So here is our book, written from the perspective of three white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant, suburban, brown-haired, right -handed lesbians of average height and build who try to find humor, fun and games wherever we can.
