Welcome to my listing for an unusual and rare vintage coloring book -- so rare that I haven't been able to find any sign of its existence on the internet, and only a few examples of the children's story book that it's based on! This is the Gladys the Glint Coloring Book, copyright 1970 (and presumably published then) by the Spencer Manufacturing Company of Ohio, illustrated by Edward A Skrocki and based on original drawings of Gladys the Glint by M J Lassalle. The characters in this coloring book first appeared in some very scarce childrens' books by D J Donovan, which feature a group of friendly space aliens of various origins. The style is very trippy and psychedelic, reminding me a bit of the kiddie show H.R.Pufnstuf. The book shows some signs of age, but is clean and solid, with no coloring or scribbling or writing inside or out except a price inked on the front cover. The covers are uncreased and unfaded, but the (newsprint) pages, and the insides of the covers, are yellowed with age.
