First edition of a highly important pocket map of New York State. Orleans County is not yet present. A second edition, with Orleans County, and dated 1825, was included in Finley's A New American Atlas 1826 . Rumsey notes that the atlas was an attempt to compete with Tanner's American Atlas... the cartography and engraving are equal to Tanner, although the scale and map size are smaller.
