Mathematical Foundations of Quantum Mechanics. First edition in English of the celebrated physicist's first book, among the very first efforts to develop a mathematical framework for the nascent science of quantum mechanics. Von Neumann himself gave considerable advice for this translation, having worked in America for over 25 years at that point.The translator was Robert T. Beyer (1920-2008), a physicist best known for his work in acoustics. Von Neumann originally published this work in German in 1932 as Mathematischen Grundlagen der Quantenmechanik.
