1975 A Photographic Collection of Welcoming T.M. Emperor and Empress of Japan in Hawaii. Published by the Hawaii State Welcoming Committee to commemorate the historic 1975 goodwill visit of Emperor Hirohito and Empress Nagako to the islands. This scarce, bilingual volume features text in both English and Japanese, documenting official reception speeches by Governor George Ariyoshi and Mayor Frank Fasi alongside extensive photography of the welcoming crowds. Elegantly bound in a textured violet cloth casing displaying a gold gilt Imperial Chrysanthemum crest, the interior features rich full-color plates and monochrome photo layouts complete with a decorative Japanese Unryu Washi cloud paper overlay sheet. The book is in structurally sound condition. The interior pages have foxing, tightly bound, and free from loose sheets, highlighting vibrant vintage color and clear printing. For transparency, there is light edge rubbing along the outer joints, a small spot of wear on the mid-left border of the front panel, and small clusters of dark handling or storage spots scattered across the back cloth cover, which do not impact the internal contents. Disclaimer: Books are gently cleaned before shipping. Depending on age and previous storage, minor superficial shelf dust or light age residue may remain. Please review photos for exact condition.
