A beautifully illustrated and bound family bible. 4to (38 x 29 cm); illustrated black white engraved plates with tissue-guards throughout, family register between testaments, some light spotting throughout but more pronounced to illustration title-page illustration plates and tissue-guards, occasional finger-soiling and minor marks throughout as expected, small mark to pp138-9, pp224-5 and pp728-9 not affecting legibility of text, very minor hole at margin affecting pp929-40, small closed tears to plate opposite p1020, lower p1059 and tissue-guard to plate opposite p1133, offsetting to a few leaves from flower pressing, not affecting legibility of text, colour variance in age-toning circa p609, probably due to different paper stock used in printing, otherwise very good internal condition; scrolled, floral gilt-panelled full black calf with diced boards, brown lettering piece to spine, with blind-embossed panels, gilt ribs, general signs of wear to hinges and extremities, minor abrasion to upper board, occasional mark to spine, otherwise very good condition; [xxviii], 1358pp.
