A fine image of an East-Indiaman making sail. William Huggins served for several years at sea in the service of the East India Compnay, and on his return to London was regularly employed to paint carefully detailed pictures of the company's ships. The present image is from this body of work and shows the Honourable Company Ship Macqueen making sail in crowded waters 12 other vessels are visible . Item #3528
