ANON. Le Jeu de Paume. Facsimile reproduction after the original engraving printed in c.1785, numbered 183/200 on reverse, published by the M.C.C. January 1982. 385 x 295 mm. Showing a paumier (Real Tennis player) watching a game on his court which is in the background. There appear to be a lot of people playing but three or even four aside was not unknown at this time. With inscription at top in Latin "Pilam juvat ingeminare volantem," translated to read: it helps to double the flying ball. SKU: 2122573
