Report of the Mission to Lake Tana 1920-1921. First edition of this hydrological investigation into the source of the Blue Nile and the possible construction of a reservoir to increase downstream discharge and meet the agricultural needs of Egypt and Sudan.British officials first began investigating the potential of Lake Tana in the early 20th century, when C. E. Dupuis was dispatched to undertake preliminary fieldwork. Following the revival of discussions during the First World War, the Egyptian Ministry of Public Works dispatched a team led by G. W. Graham, the government geologist for Anglo-Egyptian Sudan, and R. P. Black, an inspector with the Ministry of Public Works, in 1920. Although diplomatic difficulties left the reservoir plan unrealized, the Graham-Black report contains a wealth of statistical data, diagrams, and photographs.
