A brochure charting the history of the hospital since its founding around 600 CE, including several illustrated pages on the period between 1914 and 1959, during which it was sabotaged by Turkish forces, forced to adapt to the end of the Mandate, and launched a new research project to address eye diseases in the Middle East.Publication occurred in the middle of a significant expansion plan, the order constructing new buildings with financial and logistical support from Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrein, Qatar, and several major oil companies. "Without their help our new hospital would have remained a dream and its potential to the Arab peoples and to many others throughout the world would never have been realised" (p. 23).
