A signed First/First of the legendary Jonathan Livingston Seagull author's follow-up about life and love and growing up. Laid into the book is a adhesive-backed bookplate bearing the typewritten title: RICHARD BACH For The Book THERE'S NO SUCH PLACE AS FAR AWAY below which is Bach's impressionistic signature in black ink. The plate is from the estate of L.A. bookdealer and collector Horace "Hal" Kemp. Kemp haunted book signings by noted authors and celebrities during the late 20th Century and compiled a huge collection of these signed plates, yet never matched most of them to appropriate titles. According to the notes Kemp left with the collection, Bach signed this plate for him at an appearance he made at L.A.'s Vromans Book Store on September 23, 1994.
