It documents the elaborate, fictional artistic universe created by contemporary New York artist Mark Beard. The book is in very good condition. There is a small 1/4 inch tear in right hand upper corner of the back of the book jacket. The Concept Mark Beard is a master of art-world fiction. For decades, he has meticulously painted under the guise of several alter egos. The central character is Bruce Sargeant (1898–1938), a fictional gay great-uncle who supposedly specialized in idealizing the male form in the style of the 1920s and 1930s. To make the universe feel authentic, Beard also created works by Sargeant's entire artistic circle.
