Russia was previously included in the Northern Europe editions and this is the first separate volume published by Murray covering this area. The Crimean War had finished 9 years earlier and the Polish Revolution the year before. A very scarce volume which rarely appears on the market. Endpapers are dated March 1865. First edition. 8vo,, pp 282, 72 adverts on blue paper at rear, 5 maps and plans including one large folding map of Russia at rear, some fraying at edges of the map, inner hinges cracked; publisher's brown cloth gilt, slightly faded; overall a very good copy Lister 89.
