This edition contains a foreword by the American writer and gourmand, Lucius Beebe. Despite some external wear to the dust-jacket, the internal work is in very good condition and provides a comical glimpse into the world of women and cocktails in post-war USA. First edition, fifth printing; 8vo (21 x 14.5 cm); printed illustrations to chapter pages, very light spotting on page edges with slight encroachment to extreme edges of a few leaves, not affecting text, otherwise very good internal condition; publisher's red cloth boards, black illustration and text to upper panel, black lettering to spine, colourfully illustrated dust-jacket, rubbed at extremities, losses to top, bottom and spine, affecting some lettering on upper panel, loss to upper right hand corner of front flap, slight loss to text, otherwise, a handsome, period jacket; [x], 223pp, [1]pp.
