The Polish-Mongolian Palaeontological Expeditions; First editions, offprint issues, comprising a representative collection relating to the Polish-Mongolian expeditions to the Gobi Desert between 1963 and 1971. The enterprise involved several women scientists: Kielan-Jaworowska was the organizer, Maryańska the vice-leader, and Osmólska a field worker. Two offprints are inscribed by Maryańska, one by Osmólska, and another three have the presentation stamp of Kielan-Jaworowska, all on the front wrappers.Maryańska (1937-2019) and Osmólska (1930-2008) were among the first women to to formally to name and describe new dinosaur taxa. Maryańska's inscriptions are variations of "With the author's compliments, T. Maryańska", while Osmólska's reads, "With compliments, H. Osmólska". Another offprint is inscribed by Andrzej Sulimski (1926–1997), the discoverer of the famous "Fighting Dinosaurs" specimen on the 1971 expedition, to the herpetologist and collector, Harlan D. Walley (1932–2008): "To Dr. Harlan D. Walley, with all best wishes, A. Sulimski". All but three of the offprints bear Walley's ownership stamps on the front wrappers.Kielan-Jaworowska (1925-2015) was the first woman to serve on the executive committee of the International Union of Geological Sciences.
