Very rare first edition of a guide book on spiritualist self-healing and fulfilment. Just one other title by the productive writer William Juvenal Colville (1862-1917), Universal Spiritualism Spirit Communion in All Ages Among All Nations , illustrates his stance. According to Colville's own and contradictory statements he was born in England between 1857 and 1862; he introduced himself to the American public with his 1878 book The Medium and Daybreak as a trance medium with a unique capability: impromptu and subconscious poem-making, écriture automatique before surrealism.
