The bibliographer says of first issue copies: "The Fourth Canto of Childe Harold has hitherto been regarded as the least uncommon of the first editions of Byron's poems. As a fact the correct book is one of the scarcest" (Wise, p. 60).The concluding canto to Byron's long poem follows Cantos I-II (1812) and III (1816).
