Original cream cloth-backed blue paper-covered boards, paper label to spine; 22 monochrome etchings on India paper mounted at large each stating 'proof' to bottom right hand corner, tissue guards, spare label bound in at end; spine sunned, rubbing to bottom edge of binding, a little occasional foxing, endpapers browned, very good. Limited edition of 100 copies. Blake's illustrations for the Book of Job were considered one of the highpoints of his work and also provided one of his few commercial successes. It was originally published in 1826, and the plates in this very scarce volume are reduced facsimiles taken directly from that edition. It was republished in a trade edition the following year.
