PINDAL, Kaj. Man and his world. Montreal: La Cinematheque canadienne. 1967. 10.5 x 6.5 cm. Flip book in original paper covers; approx 100 leaves creating an animated sequence showing human evolution from caveman to groovy Sixties moptop; very good. First edition, printed as part of the World Retrospective of Animation Cinema. Known as the Nordic Walt Disney, the Danish-born Pindal moved to Canada and became a famous, Emmy-award winning animator after creating Peep and the Big Wide World , an educational TV series for children. His 1967 film What On Earth! was released in the same year as the World Retrospective; in its interpretation of human car culture as seen through the eyes of a Martian documentary maker, it shows the same satirical spirit that we see in this flip book.
