Clive's important letter to the East-India Company defending his actions and legacy in India, in particular railing against Laurence Sulivan (1713-1786), the serving chairman of the East-India Company, and his not unfounded accusations of corruption. Off the back of this letter Clive was sent back to India again as Governor-General for his third and final stint where he received the firman from the King Shah Aalum which confirmed the East-India Company's control of Bengal. Appendices includes Clive's treaty with Mir Jafar (1691-1765) in 1757 which several critics had argued he had no right to.
