The Gion Festival. Second edition, following the first of 1918, signed by the author on the front free endpaper. This volume recounts the history and traditions of one of Japan's largest festivals, including descriptions and explanations for all 34 of the yamaboko floats. The folding plate shows two of the most famous: the naginata (long-sword) and urade (divination) floats.
