Guide to Singapore. An early edition, the fourth overall, of this long-running tourist guide, complete with the impressive folding map of Singapore town. Although Papineau's later guides were expansive, this example conveys his modest beginnings, in particular his reliance on a large amount of advertising business to make publication viable.The first edition was published immediately after the end of the Second World War, updated versions appearing on an almost annual basis into the 1970s.
