Tang Li Xian mu Li Chongrun mu bihua ("Murals in the Tombs of Li Hsien and Li Chong-jun of the Tang Dynasty"). First edition of this beautiful archaeological portfolio, far grander than most other books published in Mao's China. The murals were discovered in the tombs of Li Xian and Li Chongrun, two Tang dynasty princes interred at the Qianling mausoleum complex near Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. Designed to project imperial grandeur, the tombs were excavated in 1971-2, archaeologists finding over 800 square metres of spectacularly preserved murals and cultural relics. The 90 colour plates show detailed portions, while the large plans display the overall structure of the tombs.
