A smart copy of this atlas of the world produced by noted cartographer Adolf Stieler (1775-1836). This was the leading German atlas of the world until the twentieth century. Later oblong folio edition (40 x 48.5 cm); 90 coloured maps, 12 pp. descriptive insert, engraved title, list of plates; contemporary half black morocco, cloth boards, gilt morocco lettering piece to upper board, gilt lettering to spine, a little rubbed, a very good copy.
