The Weirdstone of Brisingamen. Rare proof copy of the first edition, signed by the author on the front free endpaper, likely at a later date. This copy is from the collection of Rob Soldat, a friend of Garner's in later life. Soldat lived in Hay-on-Wye and was a noted storyteller in the famously bookish community. The Weirdstone of Brisingamen was Garner's literary debut, inspired by the folklore and landscape of his Cheshire home. It was a critical and commercial success and inspired the likes of Garth Nix and Philip Pullman.
