A 1924 film adaptation starred Marion Davies, Harrison Ford, Macklyn Arbuckle, and W.C. Fields, based on a script by Lillie Hayward (the first of seventy film and television scripts for which she received credit). The Parsons copy. The dust jacket is scarce. While the jacketed (and boxed) illustrated issue of the same year (which was comprised of sheets from a subsequent printing) is noted as Tanselle 99.36, the first printing of the first edition is not.
