Ernest Foussier (1859-1917) was a French architect and a professor at the trade association of upholsterers and decorators. He was commissioned by the Vanderbilt family to decorate their house on Avenue Foch. A precursor of Art Deco, he won a medal at the 1900 Universal Exhibition. Chromolithograph plate by Delamotte after illustrations by Ernest Foussier of armchairs, chairs, sofas, canapés, screens, etc. Paper size: 33.8 cm by 47.3 cm. Mounted, overall size: 38.6 cm x 49 cm.
