Original LOOK Magazine dated November 8, 1938, featuring the striking “Twenty Years of War” skull cover. An incredible piece of pre-WWII American ephemera with dramatic graphic artwork depicting a glamorous woman transformed into a skull, a cigarette marked “YOUTH,” and rows of soldiers and bayonets in the background. The vivid green, yellow, red and black artwork gives this issue exceptional display appeal. Cover features include: * “Twenty Years of War” * Margaret Sanger – Birth Control * Bette Davis * Thomas E. Dewey * “Ready for Bed” * “Death Dive” The back cover features a fantastic full-page color advertisement for the 1938 20th Century-Fox film Suez, starring Tyrone Power, Loretta Young and Annabella. Condition: This is an original 1938 magazine showing substantial age and wear. The spine is heavily worn with paper loss, splitting and deterioration, particularly along the upper portion. There are edge tears, chips, creases and general handling wear throughout the covers. Despite the condition issues, the front cover remains remarkably vibrant with strong color and excellent visual impact.
