Opera. A lovely copy of Sarah Baskerville's Horace, one of only two books that she published under her own imprint. After the death of her husband John, she briefly continued his fine typographical legacy: "both of Sara Baskerville's books are neatly and elegantly produced with careful craft on good quality paper" (Killeen, p. 192).Sarah Baskerville (née Eaves, 1704-1788) worked for years in japanning at the Baskerville press before marrying John in 1764 and formally becoming his business partner. She took control of the press and type founding business in 1775, and discontinued it in 1777. The text is a reprint of John's much-praised edition of 1762.
