A Note on his aims in Founding the Kelmscott Press First edition of the final Kelmscott Press book, presentation copy, inscribed by Sydney Carlyle Cockerell on the front free endpaper, "To James P. Smart, from S. C. Cockerell, May 5th 1898". Smart is best remembered for collaborating with T. J. Wise on a comprehensive bibliography of John Ruskin, published in 1893; his bookplate, incorporating the Latin motto "the written word endures", is on the front pastedown. This is one of 525 copies on paper.
