The Humour of the Korean Tiger By Zozayong [Cho Cha-yong] Seoul: Emille Museum, 1970 Korean Art Series, Volume 1 — Illustrated Softcover Scarce early Emille Museum publication on the tiger in Korean folk art, written by Zozayong, the pen name of Korean folk-art scholar Cho Cha-yong. Published as the first volume in the museum’s Korean Art Series, this illustrated 44-page study explores the distinctively expressive and humorous tiger imagery of Korean folk painting, an important field of minhwa and Korean visual culture. Inscribed by the author on the title page: “To Dr. Dorothy M. Frost, American Korean Foundation, With the compliments of the author, Zozayong.” The recipient was Dr. Dorothy M. Frost, an executive of the American-Korean Foundation who served as its executive director and later led overall operations in Korea. This is a significant association inscription linking the author, the Emille Museum’s Korean-art publishing program, and an American-Korean institutional figure active during the period.
