This is a numbered limited edition hardcover, copy 674 of 990, first printing (November 1991), with dust jacket. This copy is signed and warmly inscribed by Guirard: "for Gary and your family," dated February 22, 2001. Guirard — the renowned Atchafalaya Basin photographer, writer, and cypress-swamp advocate — passed away in 2017, making his signed material a fixed, non-growing supply. He has a genuine, engaged following among collectors of Louisiana regional nature writing, Cajun culture, and Atchafalaya Basin photography. Condition: Fine, with light shelf wear — a small scuff on the front cover and minor wear at the top of the spine. Otherwise clean and tight.
