George Sims drew upon his experiences as an antiquarian bookseller for many of his thriller novels, including his first, The Terrible Door. Sims also authored three non-fictional accounts of the "Rare Book Game", and his bookseller's catalogues helped to revive interest in figures such as Eric Gill and Llewellyn Powys.Provenance: Stephen C.
