A Few Figs From Thistles. Later impression of the expanded 1922 edition, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "Sincerely yours, Edna St. Vincent Millay". The poetry collection was initially published in 1920 by Frank Shay. Millay won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1923 for A Few Figs From Thistles, "The Ballad of the Harp-Weaver", and Eight Sonnets.This copy was gifted to Stephen C. Massey by his fellow bibliophile John S. Van E. Kohn (c.1906-1976); his gift inscription is pencilled onto the front pastedown and dated 10 August 1972. Loosely inserted is Kohn's obituary in the New York Times, which Massey has dated 19 December 1976.
