RARE original bound volume of Civics for Houston, published by the Forum of Civics, Houston, Texas. This illustrated late-1920s Houston civic and cultural publication includes the January 1928 Vol. I No. 1 issue, material from the concluding January 1929 issue, and June 16, 1929 Houston Gargoyle material, as shown. The front endpaper bears a contemporary presentation inscription appearing to read “Vera Baker Chinn” and “Compliments of Forum of Civics 1929.” There is also a handwritten note on the Houston Gargoyle material. Antique/collectable condition. Blue cloth binding shows rubbing, fading, marks and edge wear. Pages are age-toned with foxing, handling marks and occasional staining. Please study all photographs carefully; sold exactly as shown. A fascinating item for collectors of Houston and Texas history, urban planning, architecture, graphic design, magazines and ephemera.
