In a very good unclipped wrapper with chipping to the spine tips, chipping to the knuckles of front and rear flap folds, fading to the spine, a closed tear to the edge of rear flap fold. The Clocks by Agatha Christie is an ingenious Hercule Poirot mystery beginning when typist Sheila Webb discovers an unidentified corpse in a blind woman s sitting room, surrounded by several clocks all indicating the same time. Inspector Hardcastle investigates with Colin Lamb, an intelligence agent pursuing an espionage trail. Poirot accepts the challenge of solving the murder largely from his armchair. Christie combines an elaborate domestic puzzle with Cold War intrigue, false identities and manipulated evidence.
