Wolff Book Manufacturing Co. and designed by Tere LoPrete. Bound in its original burgundy cloth, the book features Capote's initials “TC” stamped in gilt on the front board and the title and author's name stamped in gilt and silver on the spine. The original burgundy endpapers and dark-stained upper page edge are also present. Originally appearing in slightly different form in The New Yorker, In Cold Blood recounts the 1959 murders of the Clutter family in Holcomb, Kansas, and the investigation and prosecution that followed.
