Original cloth lettered in gilt on the spine, and blind-embossed to resemble a half bound book; cloth a little marked, flecked and slightly bumped at the extremities; endpapers and adjacent pages tanned; minor signs of age and use (including some relevant pencilling); overall, a very good copy with the early ownership signature of (possibly) W.J. Hattwell. 'The following essays ... have been brought together and published in book form by the Hon. Ralph Abercromby, for convenient reference by students of Meteorology, because he thinks that they are important contributions to our knowledge of the Meteorology of a new field' (introduction).
