Pushkin. First UK edition, handsomely bound. Troyat's biography of the Russian poet was first published in Paris in 1946. The translator, Amphoux (1935-1992), worked for the Conseil d'Europe and was involved in a Paris Zen community, about which she wrote in her 1986 memoir Diary of a Zen Nun. She also translated a life of Tolstoy.
